radio spots

During my advertising courses, creating radio spots presented itself as a recurring assignment. The process of conceptualizing an idea, writing a script, and selecting the perfect music and sound effects was an exhilarating experience. I quickly realized the power of audio in conveying a message and captivating an audience.

With each new project, I eagerly embraced the challenge of crafting a compelling narrative in just a few seconds, carefully choosing my words to create a memorable impact. Creating radio spots not only honed my storytelling skills but also gave me a deeper appreciation for the art of advertising and the ability to communicate effectively in a concise manner.

HIROI

HIROI: SAVE ON GAS & MAXIMIZE ON SPACE

Length: 60

SFX:              [News clip talking about rising gas prices—fades to upbeat, happy music]

VO:                Gas prices in the country are at a 7-year high, and there is no sign they are going down anytime soon. How much have you spent at the pump lately? If that number made you angry, maybe it’s time to buy a HIROI.

Woman 1:  [woman butts in] I mean, I know I’ve spent way too much lately, but what about space? Isn’t a HIROI a [said with slight disdain] compact car?

VO:                It is, but there’s nothing compact about the HIROI. With its 27.4 cubic feet of cargo space, you can easily fit two Great Danes and a Dachshund, or three Ficus trees and a fern, or four boogie boards and a picnic lunch or even---

Woman 1:  [butts in again, curious] I get it... but what if I ever need to move the antique 1970s dresser my grandmother is leaving to me in her will? There’s no way I could move that with a compact car!

VO:                No, but do you have a friend with a truck?

Woman 1:  [thoughtful] Well... I think my friend Jim has one! I think he would be willing to help me out too.

VO:                There you go! Problem solved!

VO:                With a HIROI, whatever you lack in cargo space, which won’t be a lot, you’ll more than make up for in increased gas mileage. Head to your local HIROI dealership today to find out just how much you can be saving! And if you end up buying a HIROI, we’ll even pay for your first tank of gas.
